Today was a bucket list day for me!  We had repacked the car and were back traversing the 4wd track by 645am to pick Jase and Sue up.  We then embarked on the 2 hour 50 km trip into the national park.  There were a number of water crossings to traverse with submerged rocks.  Kieran romped it in getting his van across them all.

We set up tents and swags, had lunch and headed out for the rest of the afternoon hiking amongst the domes. So impressive in the afternoon light.

Next stop was Cathedral Gorge.  An enormous ampitheatre which we all enjoyed spending time in the relative cool.

Then up to the Piccaninny Creek Lookout as the sun began to set.  We then retraced our steps back and the different colours of the domes without sun on them meant I retook all the same photos on the way back 🙂 .

A most enjoyable day.  Tomorrow we head north in the park and undertake the hikes around there.

    1. Haha! I’ll never be good at those. The scenery is sooo good. The photography is difficult to represent it, but it will be a memory jogger when we look back at it.

  1. Love these photos Kerrie, this place is still on my bucket list as there was unseasonal rain when we were there and couldn’t get in. Had to settle for a flight over them which was spectacular but would love to be able to hike amongst them.
