2023-06-26 Cape Leveque

So I have to count today as cloudy day number 2 since we left home. I got up early and went biking on Cable Beach with Karen and Kieran. It wasn’t long before I realised the sand was a bit softer than the other day. I pealed off and left them to it and enjoyed the muted colour over the rocks.

Packing was undertaken slowly this morning and Jase and Sue came over to confirm what we anticipated – they were leaving before Cape Leveque to ensure they stayed ahead of the road closures heading east.

We said our goodbyes – 6 weeks of amazing experiences behind us that we will all remember. We are thankful that the planets aligned at the right time for us to join up and spend some time travelling together.

The rest of us hit the road heading north and arrived at Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm in time for a late lunch. We’ve explored by bike this afternoon and booked our cruise for tomorrow (weather pending).

The late afternoon was spent playing Canasta in the camp kitchen (Karen and I won 🙂 ). The rain finally made it to us but wasn’t too heavy. We’ll get an update tomorrow on how the roads are coping where we are heading.
