We woke to a great view out of the van.  Not surprisingly, it was overcast again.  The boys had one last go at pulling our busted generator apart to see if they could find the problem.  No luck.  I think it is going in the bin so we can fit in a replacement when we pass back through Broome.  Our electrical system is struggling severely after 4 nights off grid and literally no sunshine for the last 5 days.  Kieran loaned us his generator and Bob is connecting the car and running it as well.  We are reduced to using no power other than to keep the fridge/freezer running.

I headed out on a solo walk this morning around the headland.  The colours were so good.  Great moody light warning of the rain that was coming in the next few hours.

After lunch, Karen and Kieran decided to go out for a kayak in the lagoon.  We elected to stay put.  Our skills probably aren’t good enough with a brisk breeze and unknown waters.  Bob suggested a walk out along the beach but the heavens opened once we were the best part of a km away and he decided we should retreat back to the van.

Tomorrow is Kieran’s birthday.  We have another 2 nights booked here, but Bob and I are considering heading back to Broome to get a new generator and potentially boost our solar capacity as well.  Really looking forward to some sun and some inkling as to what the weather system has done to our itinerary along the Gibb.
