This morning was cold and windy. We didn’t hurry getting out and about and had a relaxed cooked brekky. Karen and Kieran took us to the sandy gorge they rode to yesterday (by car this time as the track was really sandy and I fall off bikes…). While we were there Karen set to finding the slow leak in their hiking air mattress so she can attempt a fix. Once she’d identified it she paddled across the river on the mattress while the rest of us declined to get wet.

We came back and I showered under the watering can next to a boab! Pretty cool.

We then headed for lunch at the homestead. Quiche and salad, which we all enjoyed as our fresh salad supplies are dwindling 2 and a half weeks since our last grocery shop.

We hung around the homestead for the afternoon in the sun on the grass (and away from the swirling dust at the vans). Games, craft and catching up on world events.

Progress shot – I’m learning needle punching now

We have all indulged ourselves this afternoon and each couple has enjoyed a bath overlooking the river. Karen and Kieran headed off first and Bob and I jagged the sunset tub. So peaceful and relaxing.

Tomorrow we plan to explore a little further afield and check out the Durack River.
