2024-09-19 Down Day

Today was our first day since we left home that was unplanned and spent entirely on the boat. So of course I woke up early and watched the colourful sunrise. Once awake, Bob and I headed out to the pool deck at 630 for a half hour stretching class.

The day was filled with swimming, reading, eating, towel folding class (for Sandra and Glenn – we were too into our books to go to that one – Sandra very kindly donated her penguin to us and now we have towel art in our room 🙂 ), and cocktail class (for the whole boat except us 4 because we got the time wrong). Bob and Glenn had serious afternoon naps while Sandra and I sat on top deck watching the boat movements along this massive working river.

The little boat out front is towing the fish farm behind!

This evening we were treated to a traditional Lion Dance display performed by young people from a local orphanage. It was a really fun celebration at the end with the boat passengers dancing to ‘Gangnem Style’ with the performers.

Today was largely rain free. A quick shower this morning and then some rain this evening. I wonder if we will manage a rainless day in our 3 weeks over here?

Tomorrow we are back exploring first thing. Looking forward to getting back out there.
