Well, here we go! 2 weeks and counting until our caravanning trip of many years in the wings finally happens. On the 30th April we are leaving our family, home and work behind for 4 months of travelling our country. Our partners in crime are Karen and Kieran, friends we met while all on student placement and studying electrical engineering in 1989. The big van has been replaced with a small hybrid so we can get to the places we are interested in, and our packing (and repacking) has been an exercise in restraint compared to our caravanning in the past.

This weekend we are camping at our favourite local campground while we complete all the last minute packing, organising and modifying of our set up. Little pieces of home are being added (Kerri’s requirement, not Bob’s) and weights of gear are being agonised over. Once we finish here tomorrow it’s off to the weigh bridge to see whether we’ve hit the mark or not.

Our plan is to keep this website updated with what we are up to, fave photos will go in the gallery and the progress map will show where we are.
