This morning we had a relaxed pack up. Karen and Kieran headed out on a hike as they are staying an extra night and waved us off as we headed back to the Finke Riverbed drive out. The Finke is the longest river in the Southern Hemisphere and only flows end to end twice a century – it is very dry at the moment.

We stopped off at Simpsons Gap on our way to Alice Springs. A lot more people at this one due to it being a lot closer to civilisation.

This afternoon has been a flurry of sourcing gas, replacing the computer charging cable (after the computer fell out of the car), restocking groceries, and loads of washing in preparation for our next off grid stint. We are connected to power tonight and the A/C is so decadent! Heading for 1 degree overnight. More tasks planned for tomorrow before we all meet up and head north again on Tuesday.
