We headed out of Mary Kathleen this morning and started the lengthy trek (415km) towards Winton. We are passing back through Winton after an extended stay here 2 years ago so don’t plan on staying more than 1 night.

We stopped at McKinlay where we visited the pub from the original Crocodile Dundee movie while Bob and Kieran replaced and rewired our caravan plug into the car which had disconnected a couple of hundred km before and had dragged along the road with only frayed wires left. Thank goodness Kieran had a spare!

After a lengthy delay to fix the wiring we stopped at Kynuna for lunch and arrived to set up at Winton later than anticipated. At least we’ve done the sight seeing before….

We spent the rest of the day at the North Gregory Hotel where we enjoyed a performance with bush poetry and an 1895 history of Winton. Surprisingly enjoyable.

Then I headed on to some sunset photography (not happening enough these days) and then we met the Scott’s for a pizza dinner before back to the vans. A less than 200km drive tomorrow to Longreach where we will be revisiting attractions that were booked out last time we were in the region two years ago.
