Last night Karen and I headed out for some Boab astro photography (did I mention how much I like Boabs?). I couldn’t find the trees in the dark that I had thought would be fantastic at night so had to make do with one beside the road.

After some drone fun this morning (Kieran and Bob both had a play as well), we headed on our way to Broome. While enroute we had a chat with Adam from work who is also exploring the country with his family. We passed within 40km of him in Derby but didn’t manage to meet up this time. Maybe when we are both in Qld. While chatting we found out about the significant dry season wet event that is forecast for next week. We are watching developments closely as this has the potential to derail our 3 weeks of travel on the Gibb River Rd.

We arrived in Broome just after lunch, set up and touched base with Jase and Sue, who have spent some time in Derby and Broome since we parted ways a couple of days ago. After addressing some shopping requirements this afternoon we all met up at the Sunset Bar at Cable Beach for a drink and to watch a Western Australian sunset over the water. It did not disappoint!

We have a few days in Broome to explore the area. Looking forward to finding the elusive dinosaur footprints that we couldn’t find last time Bob and I were here.
