We were up and going very early this morning with a list of things to achieve before heading back north to catch up with Karen and Kieran.  We were very successful, with a new generator purchased as well as a solar blanket to boost the van solar when the weather isn’t fully sunny.  We packed quickly and left the van in Broome ready for another swag night.

Once we hit the turn off we were glad we only had the car with us…

Another 50km of dirt/mud/puddles and we managed to find Karen and Kieran in time for lunch.  They had moved 10km up the beach from their spot last night.  The camping location is so spectacular!  We set ourselves up on the other side of the elevated section (above the large tides) and spent some time exploring.  Amazing red sandy cliffs directly onto the sandy beach.  The mixing of red dirt and sand runoff after the recent rain made some beautiful patterns as it reached the water.

Afternoon nibbles watching the sun set over the water was followed by the full moon rising and then dinner next to the fire.  A fellow camper quite a distance away played didgeridoo while we ate.   An awesome finish to the day.  Bob and I rounded it out with a moonlit walk along the beach as the tide rose.

Sleeping under the stars again tonight.  As Karen said today, it feels a bit like a holiday from our holiday.  Tomorrow we are heading back to Broome for the Staircase to the Moon while Karen and Kieran stay on for another night or two.
